Hi Team.
Need assistance in developing a solution
Client current configuration
- They have 5 sites: 1 Primary Site (Head Office/HO), 1 Secondary site (DR) and 3 branch offices
- All sites have backup exec 2012 deployed and they are currently saving the backup data to tape
- All branch offices have connectivity to both primary and secondary sites (HO and DR)
Required solution
- All branch offices should perform backup to local disk/storage
- Branch office' backup should then be replicated first to the DR site. The DR copy will then be replicated to the HO site. If DR site is not available, replicate to Head Office first then send copy to DR site.
- Solution must be managed from a single console.
What do you recommend? Backup Exec or Netbackup?
In addition, customer has multiple servers backing up to one tape drive at the head office. They want to minimize the backup window such that as soon as one sever finishes backup, the second server starts immediately and so on. Is this doable in Backup Exec? If not, can Netbackup perform this?
Thank you!
