Setting up VMware NetBackup host on Master/Media server

I'm in the process of adding VMware backups to a fairly new RHEL-based Master/Media server.  My intentions are to make this server the VMware backup host as well (it's lightly loaded).  I have added the NetBackup client license.  Is it correct that I now need to install the client software onto this Master/Media server?  Environment is RHEL 6.6, NB 7.6.0.4, and the VMware server system is running ESXi 5.5.
