MS-Sharepoint - "invalid filelist specification(69)"

I need a solution

Hi,

Attempting to run a MS-Sharepoint policy, with two clients.

Backup selection is: Microsoft SharePoint Resources:\AllWebs

When I run the job, I get the following error: invalid filelist specification(69)

Detailed Status shows the following:

Unable to duplicate images

I need a solution

I am having the same problem as https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/duplications-tapes-msdp-pools-are-failing-post-7601-upgrade trying to run duplicates from the catalog screen and the command line.  I can issue the command or choose to duplicate images from the catalog screen.  The command/screen is successfull entered, but nothing shows up in the activity monitor.  I have parallel environments and am experiencing this on both AIX 7.1 and RHEL 6.5 masters.  Any suggestions?

We are coming across and error during the install process of the 7.6.0.2 windows client install on a windows server 2008 r2 64 bit

We are coming across and error during the install process of the 7.6.0.2 windows client install on a windows server 2008 r2 64 bit.

Installing localy, right clicking on setup.exe and running as admin

 

Here is the install log.. I removed the host name

netbackup 7.5.06 , bpdbjobs hangs

Hi,

 

i'm running NetBackup 7.5.0.6 on Solaris 10.

With 2 Mediaservers and the Master in a non-Global Solaris Zone.

Sometimes i do have a strange behaviour.

Everything runs. All jobs are scheduled and processed correctly. (as far as i can see)

The only thing that doesn't work is the 'bpdbjobs' CMD.

I didnt find another CMD that doesnt work.

But this is somewhat important. Lots of scripts/reports depend on the output of 'bpdbjobs' CMD.

Does this happen, i "just" have to restart all Netbackup processes and everything is fine for nearly 2 month.

Does anyone have a hint for me what i can do ?  Where i should have to look for ?

Limit tape drives used for a restore

I need a solution

I know how to limit the number of tape drives used in backup operations but is there is way to limit the number of drives used for restores?

A restore that got submitted yesterday (it happened to be a RMAN restore) used 4 of our 8 drives.  Is there a way within Netbackup that I could have limited this to perhaps 2 drives active at a time?

I have no access to the RMAN side of things.

Backup failling with error code 69(invalid filelist specification)

Backup is failling with 69 error in one of the windows 2008 client.

Media server and client is same windows 2008 server with veritas 7.5.6

Master server is : Linux  2.6.32-279.22.1.el6.x86_64 #1 SMP Tue Feb 5 12:18:08 PST 2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux.

 

could see that incremental backups are successfully, only full and accelerator backups are failing.

 

Please find the logs:

Multiple Netbackup Master servers Java Consoles open with credentials at a time

Hi

 

Daily, Login Multiple master servers ( 18)  through windows box. Every time all servers opening java consoles. it's deficult to login all.

 

Kindly provide any way to open or through batch script possible ?. I need to open at a time all with credetials on this pls suggest any one...

Drives missed

I need a solution

Hi All

We have SL8500 Tape drives available in that total 30 drives. but in our netbackup console only 26 Drives showing.

That drives shared diff media servers with SSO options.

How can I find which drives not utilizing..? Pls suggest quickway to check ?

 Dell Poweredge r510 server and Dell Autoloader PV-124T, I made Poweredge r510 to master server and  media server, I installed symantec netbackup 7.6 and create a backup policy, When  start the  backup  was failed, and  tape ask for cleaning countinously.

Please give me solution,

I am new to netbackup if u have any documention for netbackup  please help.

Is that only required for truncate the logs or any role in the database restore ?

Block Size issue

Hi Team,

We use to use SIZE_DATA_BUFFERS a value of 262144 and backups use to work fine.

Now suddenly backups are failing with error "The tape device at index -1 has a maximum block size of 65536 bytes, a buffer size of 262144 cannot be used"

Where can we set block size for a tape drive is there any registry ??

Now when I change the SIZE_DATA_BUFFERS to 65536 backups run in non encrypted volume pool.

However I think the encription key we use is of 256Kand thats why I cant run backups in encryption pool.

Need help ASAP.

Unable to import tape

I need a solution

Windows Server 2003, Version Netbackup 6.5.

I have an issue where looks back in 2009, month end backups failed and were run the following week. This weekly tape seemed to have been used in a month end 3 months later. 

the data i am looking for is in the catalog, and is requesting a tape that is in 3 months later.

however - when i load the tape and do an inventory - it see's the tape but the label appears to be wrong.

I can see the tape F801L4, however in the backup and restore details it is requesting tape LAF801 - which is strange as that is the barcode and not the media ID.

So i have gone to Catalog - run an initiate import - phase 1 starts and then gives the following error:

"Media mounted has media id of LAF801, but F801L4 was requested. Must add LAF801 to media manager volume database and retry. Staus = cannot perform specified media import"

 

We also have a new system in place - netbackup 7.5. on Windows 2008 Server. I thought since there will be no record in the catalog of this tape i would manually import it into the new system and see if there is any data i can get off of it.

It wont import into this system either. Run the admin console as admin, gone to do an initiate import again.

"media F801L4 was not found in the volume manager database. It must be added to the volume manager database before it can be imported. Status = requested media id is not assigned to this host in the EMM database"

 

I am lost as to how i can see if there is any data on this tape i can pull off?

 

Any suggestions or if you need more info please let me know

Media servers a MSDP/PD Disks

We just upgraded to 7.6.02.

We have two DD servers with each having its own PD.

Server - A : PD -A

Server - B : PD -B

Yesterday I noticed that restoring from an image that was backed up using Server - A to PD -A, the restore kicked off on Server - B from PD - A.

How is this possible?

SharePoint Foundation 2013 Backup Failures using Netbackup 7.5

Hi,

I'm using a Netbackup 7.5.0.6 client on a SharePoint Foundation 2013 server and my SQL Server 2012 installation is on it's own server.

I was after any instructions or advice as to how to go about diagnosing the following error.

Warning bpbrm(pid=116540) from client spfsvr1: WRN - can't open object: Microsoft SharePoint Resources:\Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Web Application\SharePoint_<site name>\Content-DB 1 (<server>/<instance>/WSS_Content_<site name>)\WSS_Content_<Site Name>(BEDS 0xE000035F: The SQL Server backup interface has reported a problem. Further details can be found in the job log. Restarting the SQL Server service or the server may correct the problem.)

I thought it had worked previously though I may be mistaken.

Creating a new SLP

I need a solution

Hello

 

I am a little new to the backup environment. I would like to know if some one give me command for creating a new SLP

 

i know it is nbstl SLPNAME -add ...................

 

But then i am lost. i know how to create it using GUI. But for some reason my Storage units do not load in my master.

 All policies and SLP's load but Storage units and storage unit groups do not load.

 

I guess now i have two questions. Any help will be appreciated.

We are performing a D/R Drill and trying to determine if possible to automate the Master Server installation which runs on Solaris.

Upgrade to 7.6.0.2 job failures with Network errors 41 and 636

After recent upgrade to 7.6.0.2 different job fail with network connection issues error 41 and 636.
I have looked through the forums and added the key to change the time out from 2 hours to 15 minutes.
The job complete when I retry on the 3rd time in the morning.

We never have issues with our network there are no firewalls between master and media servers. All servers are VM on VMware.

I want to perform a basic backup and restore of VMware.

So, do i need to create new policy for the VMware or i can use an existing policy for my VMware?

and if i restore that VMware, can i get the .vmdk file of the VMware?

error 98 erasing tape before running backup.

I need a solution

Is there a specific setting that needs to be set or media server to run in order to erase tapes?

We have two sites which Netbackup 7.5 manage our backups.

Our local one, where I am, has got LTO6 drives installed and the other site, LTO5 drives.

Locally we erase tapes daily before running backups, no problem.

On the other site, I get error 98.
