Guys, is there any way in the console to view all backups from all policies that have been assigned to a given client? I know I can use the 'Back,Archive and Restore' button but then I have to select the client, select the policy etc. is there a way to see all backups from all policies assigned to a given client?

I am upgrading Netbackup Solaris clients, as i have only 512 Mb space in most of the servers, which cannot be expanded further.
So i downloaded software in client and chnage below parameter in ./install script
TMPDIR=${TMPDIR:=/tmp} to TMPDIR=${TMPDIR:=/var/tmp}
It worked for me to successfully install client.
However i cant copy that software in each client due to its size hence :
Is this software can be copied to Solrias client from master server for local installation on client.
instead of downloading complete client package -->NetBackup_7.6.0.1_CLIENTS1, can i just copy below file on Solairs clients.
[root@xxxxxx save]# pwd
/usr/openv/pack/NB_CLT_7.6.0.1/save
[root@xxxxxx save]# ls -ltrh

My question is whether or not this is the latest and greatest? Are there other permissions that have been proven to be useful to have? We periodically seem to hit some kind of reset button where SAN method restores work for awhile and then stop working. We do our backups via the SAN method which work fine so its odd that we have issues now and again with the restores over SAN. I want to ensure I have the best practices in place for vmware backups and restores.
Urgent support needed. My master is a virtual windows master server with Netbackup 7.1.0.4. For the DR test for this matser server a VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM) application is specifically created for this. What are the pre-requisites required from Netbackup end before the DR test?
Our reseller said that we need the deduplication license if we use a basic disk on externale appliance that offer deduplication.
Nothing about that in the license agreement of NetBackup, but it seem to be writen in his sales tools.

Hi i migrating data from Data domain to tape. Tape storage unit have 3 drives and i am using 1 for vault.
But i am getting error like " Maximum job count has been reached for the storage unit. Please suggest.
Drives are free but still getting error STU looks good as well.

We have noticed that our RMAN DB backup has failed with following error. We are not using any NAS storage. This is just DB full backup.

I've 2 server which being backup via hyper V.
i wish to exclude some files from being backup.
since it was hyperV backup so the client werent listted on the client host properties.
Is there a way to exclude files for server that are backed up via hyper V.
Any cooperation is highly appreciated.

I have bought the Netbackup client 7.6 licence recently but currently my NBU master server is 6.5 which is not compatible to this version. So in order to install a client version that compatible with the master server, i will need to use Netbackup client 7.0 version. I search the symantec fileconnet and key in the serial number but inside only have the client7.6 for me to download while i cant found any lower version to download.
Please helpt to provide me the link or source to download the lower version of client NBU, i need it urgently, thanks

Here i am coming with some sort of confusion in NBU ports betwen backup server and client. it would be great thankful if i get answer for the following questions.
1. Whats are the ports required to be enabled between media server and client?
2. Do we require all the ports like bpcd,vnetd & PBx between each other shoudl be open?
3. we have managed to see PBx is not connecting from client to media server but backups are working fine. if that is the case may i know the reason?
4. client is under firewall but none of te required ports are enabled but backups are working fine. may i know the reason behind this confused methods under firewall?

We're backing up SQL 2012 transaction log.
From the activity monitor, i can see that the backup completed successfully.
but the SQL admin said that the disk keep getting full due to the transaction log not being truncated after the backup.
He added that the SQL was configured with AlwaysOnGroup setup.
I look around and found out that AlwaysOnGroup is not yet supported(I'm using netbackup 7.6.0.4).
The backup is pointing to the availibility name.
Is this the reason why the log wasnt truncated after the backup?
Is there any trick to backup the Transaction log if this was caused by the AlwaysOnGroup setup?
Any help is highly appreciated.

We have several Netbackup Accelerated Policies that backup to a Netbackup 5230 MSDP pool
Unfortunately, the backup unit on the NBU appliance is too full, so we have to change the policy to use another Storage unit (HP StoreOnce Catalyst) capable of Accelerated backups...
I understand that on VMware the Change Block Tracking map that is in use needs to be regenerated (As it was build up some time ago)
Is forcing an Accelerator Forced Rescan sufficient to get the CBT log regenerated, so that the first backup to the HP Storage gets ALL the blocks instead of just the changed blocks since last backup on the MSDP Storage?
If not, how can this be done best?

We are using Netbackup 7.6.0.2 with 2 media servers, all of them are on a windows 2008 R2 server.
Randomly, one of the media server lose his connection (always the same), and all the backups fails with error "disk media server is not active". For example, we had this problem at the beggining of this month, then nothing until the last week end and yesterday.
I've read that McAfee could cause this issue (relative to this technote https://support.symantec.com/en_US/article.TECH56658.html), but as I said the two media servers are the same, with the same version of McAfee, and the other one is OK. Moreover the process are in the exception list.
I've check the logs with vxlosview until 6 hours ago, and I've saw this :

Can anyone suggest a solution for this issue please:
We have an unmanned site where Iron Mountain do our daily Vault changes. We write our duplication jobs to a Pool called OFFSITE and the daily Vault_Eject job then ejects tapes from this Pool.
In the event of a restore being required we request the tapes back and they are loaded into the library by Iron Mountain however they then get ejected again the following day as they are still in the OFFSITE pool !
I cannot move them to a RESTORE pool because they are still assigned (error 91) and if I expire them in order to be able to move them to the other Pool I assume I would then have to re-Import the tapes and images because they would no longer be in the Catalog.
I am trying to make this as simple as possible as we get a lot of Restore requests and assuming we can't be the only company with a similar scenario of having an automated site.
Any help appreciated.
