If I have a backup job, which I also want to replicate using AIR between NetBackup domains, but I already know in advance that it will never de-duplicate... then is there a bakup policy selection directive which can be used to instruct MSDP to not attempt to de-dupe for that particular backup job?

I noticed that many of the expired imges are still visible in the Client Backup View and from restore but not visible in catalog and we could see the image details using bpimagelist command . Any idea why these images are still reported.
I have a policy with accelerator on, but I'm doing backup the only one folder in this server.
Have any solucion do not do the backup full again if I need to recreate de server.
Is possible to do a track log backup ?
Anyone else having issues with Netbackup Accelerator after upgrading to version 7.7?
Before all my jobs ran perfect but now some volumes of some clients aren't getting accelerated anymore (optimized 0.0% in job logs)
Wierd thing is that it's only some volumes. Other volumes on the same clients are working properly.
already tried:
- Running a new forced rescan
- Deleted the old tracking log
- Deleted the windows change journal
- Restarted server and client
- Upgraded client to 7.7
all no luck.
When i creat a new policy which back ups the same client and volume the accelerator is working fine ?!?
Anyone else having this issue or have tips to resolve this issue?

I am trying to restore mail box one of my user from Netbackup 7.6.1.1 from date 1/1/2015 to till date, but it's showing a blank data on a perticular mail on a restore menu box.
i got the image on tape which import and duplicate to pure disk and i verfiy the image it's showing the image...but while try to restoring it's showing blank.
please find the attachment and try to give me the proper solution.

and I try to deleted configure > run script "PDDE_deleteConfig.bat" but have error "the system was unable to find the specified registry key or value."
I don't know how to resolve this issue.

My customer's backup system as follows
1) Win2012 (master, media in a single physical server)
2) Netbackup 7.7
3) Solaris 10,Solaris 11 clients and VMware setup
4) FT Tape libaray directly connected to Master, Media server
5) MSDP pool for staging and replication to remote master server
6) Solaris clients having Qlogic FT cards and connected to SAN
When I trigger the Vmware backup, It is succfully backup via SAN transport mode.But When I trigger the Solaris client backup, It goes through LAN path.It is taking more then 5-6 hours around 200-300Gb backup size.This is real headeke and can not complete the backup with in backup window.
When I go through the tech note of SAN client and SAN media server,the docs are confuse and can't understand what solution is suit to me.
If any one explain step by step in point foam for get this backup throgh SAN path(LAN free Backup) is highly appriciate.

Need to know if there is anyway we can only restore the mdf and ldf files required for a database to bring online. In other words I just want to restore the database files without restoring the DB in the server.
In our environment,there is no dns server,so wo used the /etc/hosts to resovle server and client,now We have added four servers,We need to add the resolve to all of the 300 clients,who can provide me the script?thank you ！
the script must effect：
add the master and media server resolve to the client /etc/hosts
add the SERVER = MASTER SERVER= MEDIA to the bp.conf
can not haveduplicate items

is it possible for netbackup 7.6 to backup multiple sql servers with one sql polcy? will that work? or do i have to resort using one policy one server. If I have more than 10 sql servers (dev/test/prod), then we are looking at least 10 backup policies and more for daily, weekly and monthly.
Is my understanding correct? or is there any easier way of doing this.

I have plenty of bandwidth available and I would like the SLP to Duplicate the fragments in parallel. For the time being it looks like is doing them sequentially.
Is there any way of achieving this?

Hi there,
I just imported one backup image which was produced using a different NBU domain. NBU is telling me, using bpimagelist, that the backup image exists (after the Import). Now, I'd like to get a full listing (text that I can redirect to a file) of that backup image's contents, so that I can show it to the owners of the data, and then let them sleep well. bplist is telling me that "no entity was found", even though I try to use it in the simplest of ways (only specifying the dates range and the name of the client). Any ideas? Thanks! :)
